Yellow Belt Requirements

Kenpo Techniques:
  1. Delayed Sword - Front right hand lapel grab.
  2. Alternating Maces - Front two-hand push.
  3. Sword of Destruction - Front left straight or roundhouse punch.
  4. Deflecting Hammer - Front right front thrust kick.
  5. Captured Twigs - Rear bear hug with arms pinned.
  6. Grasp of Death - Left flank right arm headlock.
  7. Checking the Storm - Front right step through overhead club.
  8. Mace of Aggression - Front two-hand lapel grab - pulling in.
  9. Attacking Mace - Front right step through straight punch.
  10. Sword and Hammer - Right flank - left hand shoulder grab.
  11. Intellectual Departure - Front right step through kick.
Sets:

Blocking Set One - A series of block sequences encompassing the 5 basic blocks: upward, inward, outward, outward, outside downward, inside downward and knee check.

Katas:

Short One - Sigo (Founder) Parker. Sixteen movements, Cross pattern, Basic blocks and stances retreating. Stances Are Open, Cat, Twist, Neutral. Blocks are Inward, Outward, Upward, Downward.

Jiu Jitsu Techniques:
  • Basics: Snaking; Hooking; Clenching; Mount 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6; Guard 1, 2; Breaking Guard 1, 2.
  • Chokes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
  • Reversals: Mount to Guard; Side to Guard; Rollover.
  • Scissor Legs: 1, 2, 3.
  • Passing the Guard: 1, 2, 3, 4.
  • Arm Bars: 1, 2, 3, 4.

All basics are executed off of the forward and rear sides.
